UROsphere develops new more effective drugs for genito-urinary (GU) disorders including urinary incontinence (UI), overactive bladder (OAB), Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH), sexual dysfunctions and renal pathologies.

To achieve this objective we combine a high-level of scientific know-how, preclinical and clinical competences, as well as a performing technical platform. Our pharmacological models including multiple species and models for genito-urinary disorders are predictive of clinical efficacy.
Combination of human tissues and physiopathological models, intellectual strength and experience gives appropriate and reliable tools for developing potential drug candidates in GU indications.

Development strategy

Our development programs are based on an licensing-in strategy. To shorten the time to market and identify compounds with a therapeutic potential, we have chosen among alternative strategies to new chemical entities, the therapeutic switching strategy.
This strategy has several advantages in terms of cost and time in drug discovery. Risks due to safety and pharmacokinetics are also reduced as we focus on drug candidates that have already been in clinics and therefore have well-characterized safety profiles.

Our development team is currently working on three compounds: URS-001, URS-002 and URS-003 for various GU indications.

Our business development strategy is to pursue these programs up to clinical proof of concept studies and to seek partnering opportunities for late phase clinical development, registration and commercialization.
